Decker Amps

Decker Amps are built around a simple idea: get out of the player’s way. Every amp is designed and assembled by hand in the USA, using point-to-point wiring, finger-jointed cabinets, and layer-wound transformers, with longevity in mind from the first solder joint. The circuits are deliberately minimal, with volume, low, and high controls doing the work, and a tone stage designed to keep early harmonics, sustain, and transient detail intact whether you boost or cut.

The voicing draws on vintage American and British combos, aiming for punch, chime, and bloom. Clean tones break up gradually as you turn up, so the amp responds to your pick attack and guitar volume knob rather than a footswitch. There is plenty of headroom for drive, modulation, and delay pedals, and the tone controls work as well with humbuckers as they do with single coils.

Decker suits players who want a hand-built amp that rewards touch, stays out of the way, and does not bury the signal in features. This 20 watt combo amp is an original design from Decker but has characters of classic black panel USA combos and more copper paneled UK amps. The amps Volume, Low and High controls are really interactive and allow you use the Hummingbird 20 with any style of instrument and tailor it to your sound. It combines the most desirable attributes of tweed, black-panel, and British sounds in versatile lightweight combo. Built to the highest standard, every point on the volume dial is a distinct tonal neighborhood. Crisp cleans transition seamlessly to breakup and distortion with amazing touch-sensitivity that balances a solid transient attack with singing note-bloom. The unified design of cabinet, circuit, and speaker preserves low-end focus at any volume while mid and high harmonics increase with gain.

Output Power Control

Topping out at 20 watts, the Hummingbird features 6 levels of output power that allow you to seamlessly adapt to any environment. Using a large tube triode to regulate voltage we are able to vary the output power in a way that preserves note-bloom, harmonics and power-tube saturation at any volume level. The first 4 power settings (20w / 18w / 15w / 10w) allow you to adapt to every performing situation and stage size without sacrificing tone. The lowest two settings (5w / 1w) are ideal for home (or even bedroom) levels with the 1w setting offering slightly more overdrive for aggressive tones at whisper-quiet levels.

The Spaces Tri-Verb

We love tube & spring reverb but traditional designs have limited usable range. It allows a great deal of low-end into the reverb signal and has the longest decay of the three. Space 3 is reminiscent of a classic 60s spring reverb in terms of depth but is cleaner, and much more usable across the mix dial.
