Two-Rock Amplifiers: A Dealer's Guide to Every Current Model | High Voltage Guitars

Two-Rock builds some of the most revered amplifiers in the boutique market — but the lineup can be confusing. Nine current models, each with multiple power configurations, tube options, and feature sets. If you've ever looked at the Two-Rock website and walked away more confused than when you started, this guide is for you.

We carry Two-Rock at High Voltage Guitars and we've spent a lot of time with these amps. What follows is a practical breakdown of every model currently in production — what makes each one distinct, who it's built for, and where it fits in the lineup.

The Clean Pedal Platforms

If you're building a pedalboard-driven rig and want an amp that stays out of the way of your effects while still sounding massive, Two-Rock has three amps built specifically for this purpose.

Classic Reverb Signature

This is the amp most people picture when they think "Two-Rock." The Classic Reverb Signature is a single-channel amp that earns its reputation as the brand's most complete tone-shaping machine. It runs in three power configurations — 100/50 watt with four 6L6s, a 50 watt tube-rectified version, or 40/20 watt with 6V6s — each with a different feel.

The standout feature is the 3-position Gain Structure switch. Down position behaves like a vintage black-panel Fender. Middle mirrors the Matt Schofield Signature's hotter front end. Top position is the classic Two-Rock preamp the brand is known for. Add a foot-switchable FET boost, tone stack bypass, and an all-tube spring reverb and you have an amp that covers an enormous range of tones while still feeling fast and connected to your playing. If you can only own one Two-Rock, this is the one most players should consider first.

Studio Signature

The Studio Signature is the current evolution of the Studio Pro 35 — a 35-watt, single-channel, 6L6-powered pedal platform that's been a staple of the lineup for years. The new version brings the same 3-position Gain Structure switch from the Classic Reverb Signature, giving players three distinct preamp personalities from a more compact head. For players who want the essential Two-Rock clean platform in a smaller, lighter package, this is an excellent choice.

Traditional Clean

Exactly what it sounds like. The Traditional Clean strips the Two-Rock concept down to its most essential form: a clean, huge, pedal-ready amplifier with tone controls and nothing extra in the signal path. No FET boost, no reverb — just a transparent clean tone that responds to your guitar and pedals with exceptional honesty. It's the amp for players who find themselves disabling every feature on other amps anyway.

The Big Headroom Amp

Silver Sterling Signature

If the Classic Reverb Signature is the most complete Two-Rock, the Silver Sterling Signature is the most powerful. Available in 100/50 watt (4×6L6) or 150/75 watt (4×6550) configurations, this is the amp for players who need headroom that simply never breaks up — country players, session players, or anyone performing on large stages.

Two-Rock's proprietary output transformer compensates for impedance and phase differences when switching between high and low power modes, keeping the tone and feel consistent regardless of which mode you're in. A 6th 12AX7 cathode follower tube extends punch and clarity at high volumes. The tone stack includes 7-position high and low filter rotary controls — more surgical than a standard bass/mid/treble stack.

The Two-Channel & Gain Amps

If you want overdrive built into the amp itself rather than sourced from a pedal, Two-Rock makes three compelling options. Each handles gain differently.

TS1 — Tone Secret

Originally released in 2010 and redesigned in 2020, the TS1 is Two-Rock's take on the classic cascading gain amplifier. The overdrive channel has a rich, singing sustain that rewards dynamic picking — back off your attack and it cleans up, dig in and it opens up.

What separates the TS1 from other two-channel amps is its effects loop. It's a full tube-buffered loop with individual send and return level controls, plus independent on/off switches for both send and return. You can configure it as a fully buffered active loop, a half-buffered loop, or a passive loop — unusual flexibility even at this price point. A foot-switchable FET and tone stack bypass give you three distinct sounds from a single amp.

Bloomfield Drive

The Bloomfield Drive is Two-Rock's most versatile two-channel amp and the one most suited to players who want their overdrive to feel like a natural extension of their clean tone. The lead channel cascades from the clean channel — it doesn't suddenly become a different amp when you switch channels.

It shares the same power configurations as the Classic Reverb Signature and includes an all-tube spring reverb circuit specifically engineered not to interfere with the lead channel. EQ mini-toggles (Bright, Mid, Deep, EQ1/EQ2) give players a lot of shaping ability without touching the main tone knobs — useful for adapting quickly between rooms or guitars mid-set.

Studio Overdrive

The newest amp in the Two-Rock lineup, the Studio Overdrive brings the two-channel approach into a compact 35-watt package. It offers a clean channel and a cascading overdrive channel with independent master volumes, built around a 2×6L6 power section.

The distinguishing feature is a newly designed Tone Stack Bypass EQ that introduces an alternate voicing — tighter low end, more forward midrange — specifically tuned for lead work. A full tube-buffered effects loop with push-pull defeat rounds it out. Available in black or blue.

The Vintage-Voiced Amps

Vintage Deluxe

The Vintage Deluxe is Two-Rock's most Fender-influenced amp, and it arrives with features nothing else in the lineup offers: both spring reverb and bias tremolo. Single-channel, built on a steel chassis for additional vintage resonance, available in 35 watts with a GZ34 tube rectifier or 40/20 watts with 6V6s.

The Texture switch changes the feel of the front end from a soft, scooped response to a faster attack with more harmonic content. The Tone Stack Select switch bypasses the main tone controls and engages a secondary single Tone control on the rear panel, allowing you to dial in a separate overdriven lead voice independently of your clean tone. If you grew up loving black-panel Fender tones and want a real tremolo with boutique reliability, the Vintage Deluxe is worth serious attention.

Burnside

The Burnside is the simplest amp Two-Rock makes. It's a 28-watt, single-channel amp built around the wide-panel tweed circuit — the same fundamental architecture as a mid-50s Fender Tweed — but constructed with Two-Rock's modern build quality and housed in a pine cabinet for additional vintage character.

The preamp uses a 12AY7 tube (as vintage tweeds actually did), giving it lower gain headroom and a softer, more musical way of breaking up. Swapping in a 12AX7 is an easy mod if you want more gain. Volume, Treble, Bass, and Presence — the entire control set. At 22 lbs as a head, it's one of the most road-friendly amps in the lineup.

Which Two-Rock Is Right for You?

Pedalboard-driven rig, great clean platform: Classic Reverb Signature (most versatile), Studio Signature (35W option), or Traditional Clean (maximum simplicity).
Country, session work, or large stages: Silver Sterling Signature. Nothing else in the lineup has that headroom.
Built-in overdrive with maximum control: TS1 for loop flexibility and depth; Bloomfield Drive for the most natural two-channel feel; Studio Overdrive for a compact two-channel package.
Vintage Fender tones: Vintage Deluxe if you want reverb and tremolo; Burnside if you want pure tweed simplicity.
