    AmpRX

Your amp was designed to run at a specific voltage. The wall isn't always cooperating.

US wall voltage is supposed to land at 120V, but depending on where you are and what time of day it is, you can see anywhere from 118V to over 130V coming out of the outlet. That matters more than most players realize. A boutique amp running at the wrong voltage sounds and responds differently than it should --- thinner, stiffer, less touch-sensitive. Worse, elevated voltages shorten tube life and put stress on components that aren't cheap to replace.

AmpRx makes two tools that solve this: the BrownBox and the Brownie. Both are voltage controllers that sit between the wall and your amp, letting you dial in the exact voltage your circuit was designed to see. The BrownBox features a 5-amp proprietary transformer, an LCD screen, and an onboard voltmeter. The Brownie is a more compact option that adds the ability to both increase and decrease voltage --- useful if your particular room or venue runs low. Either unit lets you find your amp's "magic number" and lock it in every time you play.

If you're running a Two-Rock, a Dr. Z, or any boutique amp worth protecting, this is a worthwhile investment.
