About High Voltage Guitars
We're a Nashville-area shop built by people who have spent their careers inside this industry, not as observers, but as builders, dealers, and players. We know what it feels like to walk into a store and be ignored or have the wrong gear pushed on you. We built High Voltage Guitars to be the opposite of that.
The People Behind the Shop
Zach Broyles founded High Voltage Guitars for one simple reason: the guitars and amps he genuinely wanted to play were nearly impossible to find in one place, with someone who actually understood them. Zach spent years on the floor at Carter Vintage Guitars, one of the most respected vintage instrument dealers in the country, learning how great gear moves, how players think, and what separates a transaction from a real match between player and instrument. That experience, combined with building Mythos Pedals into one of the most respected names in the guitar effect pedal world, gave him an unusually complete view of the industry from every angle.
Matthew Timmons brings a perspective most retailers simply can't offer. As the former General Manager of Novo Guitars and current GM of Mythos Pedals, Matthew has been on the inside of some of the most respected and known names in the boutique industry. Matthew understands more than just the gear itself, but the craftsmanship and what players want from guitars, pedals and amplifiers. When you ask us a question about a guitar, amp or pedals we have at HVG, you're getting an answer from someone who knows what it takes to get this gear made and how it best connects to players.
Together, we've been on every side of this industry. We love connecting players with gear that is more than just another piece of a collection but part of what helps a musical journey no matter if it's just at home or on the largest stages in the world.
The Brands We Carry
We don't stock brands because they're available. We stock them because we love them, we believe in them, and we'd play them ourselves!
Every builder on our floor earned their place through the same simple test: would we put one of these in our own hands? Novo Guitars, Castedosa Guitars, Frank Brothers, Mario Martin, PRS, Two-Rock, Dr. Z, Divided by 13, Mythos Pedals, Vemuram; these aren't catalog choices. They're personal endorsements from guys who have played and studied more guitars and amps than most players will ever touch. When we tell you a Two-Rock is worth what it costs, or that a Novo Serus J plays differently than anything else in its price range, we're not reading off a spec sheet. We're telling you what we've experienced first hand.
We are proud authorized dealers for every brand we carry, with direct manufacturer relationships that mean full warranty support and the ability to help you navigate custom orders and special requests the right way.
Why open a guitar store in Nashville
Nashville is arguably the most guitar-literate city in the world. The players here are discerning, the standards are high, and the culture around instruments is unlike anywhere else. But even here, there was a gap.
The big box stores are built for volume and everyone. The vintage stores have a very specific audience and inventory that grows more expensive by the day. Neither is built for the buyer who wants to shop for new boutique guitars and amplifiers and needs someone to help them navigate the brands without pressure, without upselling, and without being pointed toward whatever needs to move this month.
That's what we're building. A shop that's a little more intimate. A room full of instruments you've been reading about but probably haven't been able to try in person. Staff who will spend an hour with you not to close a sale, but to make sure you leave with the right piece of gear, or don't leave with anything at all if the right thing isn't here... yet.
Even if you aren't in the greater Nashville area we ship everywhere. But if you're anywhere near Nashville, come in. No appointment necessary. Tuesday through Friday, 10–5. Saturday, 10–4.
