The latest option from ThroBak. The '57 Steelhead replicate that early PAF sound. The earliest PAF pickups featured a steel baseplate screw which were magnetic, the team at ThroBak have replicated all the other subtle differences for a great low-out set. These pickups come with either Long A4 magnets which have a tighter more balanced sound or their new "Dry" A2 magnets which have a bit of a hairy/biting top end.
These new pickups are built to ThroBak's exacting specs with all of their proprietary components. Nothing from ThroBak is just some off the shelf part and all those little details come through in the tone of their pickups. If you want an old school, early P.A.F. sound then the '57 Steelhead is a set to look at.
