PRS Silver Sky
The Silver Sky started as a collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and John Mayer, and the result is one of the most deliberately spec'd S-type guitars in production. Vintage fretboard radius, carefully voiced single-coil pickups, and a level of consistency in fit and finish that separates it from most guitars in this format. The details matter here, and PRS put serious thought into all of them.
We carry both tiers of the line at HVG. The SE Silver Sky brings the core platform to a broader price point, with rosewood and maple fretboard options across finishes including Derby Red, Moon White, Nylon Blue, and Laurel Green. It's a serious guitar, not a stripped-down approximation of the original.
The USA-made Silver Sky is available in four maple-board configurations: Frost, Moc Sand Satin, Venetian Blue, and Tungsten. The pickup voicing, hardware, and overall feel are noticeably different from the SE, and both are worth playing side by side if you're deciding between them. If you're in the Nashville area, all of these are on the floor in Goodlettsville.
